Community Outreach
Through lecture demonstrations and mini-performances, South Georgia Ballet seeks to promote awareness and appreciation of ballet among all ages throughout South Georgia and North Florida. Our dancers have performed at community festivals, pageants, nursing homes, and schools. For more information on scheduling a mini-performances, contact us at 229-378-2787 or info@sgpa.us.

School Matinees
Since our first performance of The Nutcracker in 1998, we have entertained more than 2,000 children annually with special abbreviated school matinee performances of our shows. Teacher Resource Guides that correspond with Georgia's Core Curriculum guidelines for grades K-12 are available to enhance the students' experience of The Nutcracker. School matinees are also available for the spring ballet. To request a group reservation form, call 378-ARTS (2787) or e-mail herndon@rose.net.

"STEP UP" Outreach Program
Through special private foundation funding we are able to provide at-risk students in Thomas County and Grady County with dance instruction. For our second year in Thomas County, our partnership with the Marguerite Neel Williams Boys & Girls Club and the Thomasville Community Resource Center provides students with after school instruction in ballet at the Thomasville Cultural Center. Now in its seventh year, through continued cooperation with the Grady County School System, elementary students are bussed once a week to South Georgia Performing Arts for dance class. Students audition each fall for an invitation to the "STEP UP" program and South Georgia Ballet supplies all tuition, dancewear and costumes.
